sheep to suit: shearing
it all starts here: shearing. dirt and lanolin. hands in fleece. pensive and penned-in ewes. troublesome tups. the sharpest shears carving out the whitest wool. and the shorn sheep, relieved of their coats by the skilled hands behind the blade.
The first in a series of visual essays tracking the journey from raw material to wearable garment, photographer Arran Cross visits sheep farmer and British wool trainer, Richard Schofield, at his farm in North Yorkshire.
